Google Celebrates Olaudah Equiano with Doodle.

Google remembers the legendary African Explorer, writer, merchant and abolitionist with beautiful doodles.

Olaudah (sic) was born in Esseka (Isseke, in today's Anambra State). He was sold to slave trade, later freed, became a scholar and later instrumental to the abolish of slave trade in Africa.

According to his Wikipedia Page -

Olaudah Equiano (c. 1745 – 31 March 1797),[2] known in his lifetime as Gustavus Vassa (/ˈvæsə/),[3] was a prominent African in London, a freed slave who supported the British movement to end the slave trade. His autobiography, published in 1789, helped in the creation of the Slave Trade Act 1807 which ended the African trade for Britain and its colonies.
