Learning Programming Language.

Pls Friends, i need your advice, i want to learn programming language, but i don't know which to start with??? am thinking of starting with python because from what have read online, its like Python language is easy to learn and understand.

Yes python is easy, simple, elegant and yet very powerful. Start with python, in addition you can learn Javascript if you want to be a "bad ass" web developer. After learning python you can install Django framework for making amazing websites with python.

Another great language is Java, comes handy if you want to create Android apps and software. For Windows software building and designing V Basic is the wat to go.

Is it not good to start from the primary language - HTML or xHTML. And is python the same as PHP

That's why I asked if he want to be a part webdesigner, he don't have to learn html if he is not interested in becoming a web developer. Besides, html and xHtml is not programming language.

C Plus Plus is a great language but the community following and job opportunity is nowhere as big as that of python and Java.
The development and stable release is also not the fastest. Learning curve is nowhere as intuitive as python.

That does not mean it is not a great language but I will not forget to add - it depends on choice. If a newbie approach me for suggestion I will point him directly to Python before anything else.
